In the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries, butterfly valves are used to interrupt the process flow (solid, liquid, gas). The valves used in these industries are usually manufactured according to the cGMP guidelines (currently well-established manufacturing specifications). Due to the low cost and ease of installation, butterfly valves are often used in many industries, especially oil instead of ball valves, but pipes that contain butterfly valves can not be "cleaned" for cleaning.
