Lug-style butterfly valve

Lug valves have threaded inserts on both sides of the valve body. This allows them to be installed in systems that use two sets of bolts without using nuts. The valve is mounted between two flanges, and each flange uses a separate set of bolts. This setting allows either side of the piping system to be disconnected without disturbing the other side.

Lug butterfly valves for dead end services typically have a reduced pressure rating. For example, a lug butterfly valve mounted between two flanges has a pressure rating of 1,000 kPa (150 psi). The same valve is fitted with a flange and has a rated value of 520 kPa (75 psi) in the dead end service. Flanged valves are highly resistant to chemicals and solvents and can withstand temperatures up to 200 ° C and are therefore a versatile solution.
