The corrosion of valve, generally is that metallic materials of a valve is destroyed by chemical or electronic-chemical action. Because the corrosion occurs in this environment that metal materials interact with surroundings spontaneously. The priority is how to exclude air or use more non-metallic composite materials. The body of a valve (including the cover) in weight is larger than other parts, and interacts with medium frequently. So, the material of a body is the first consideration when choosing a valve.

The corrosion of the body just is categorized into two types, chemical corrosion, and electronic-chemical corrosion. The corrosion speed is determined by medium’s temperature, impress, chemical performance and anti-corrosion resistance of its material. The speed can be divided into six grades:

1. Total non-corrosion: the speed is lower than 0.001mm per year;

2. Extreme non-corrosion: the speed is 0.001 to 0.01mm per year;

3. Non-corrosion: the speed is 0.01 to 0.1mm per year;

4.Normal non-corrosion: the speed is 0.1 to 1.0mm per year;

5.Bad non-corrosion: the speed is 1.0 to 10mm per year;

6.Corrosion: the speed is larger than 10mm per year
